These Fine Moments features the songs of Robert Watts and Hilary Kaufmann, who have been writing, recording, and performing together for the last 2 years. Their new release, Bright Idea, will drop on April 28, with a CD release party at Roadhouse Rags in Austin. With a 5 song EP and a full length self-titled record under their belt already, TFM teamed with engineer/producer Mark Hallman (Carole King, Eliza Gylkison, Wheeler Brothers) last fall to record Bright Idea. The sound is an evocative, minor key, organic blend of pop and rock, with Americana-styled imagery and melodies, tight vocal harmonies and solid rhythms. "It comes at you from several directions, there's a 70's influence in there as well as a modern sound with an edge to it," says Hallman. The group's first effort, These Fine Moments, which was released last spring, has garnered airplay on Austin's KLBJ and KGSR.
