Bonsai's name may suggest East Asian origins, but the trio of singer-songwriter Simone Stevens, guitarist Greg McMullen, and drummer Bryan Bisordi has it's roots in Brooklyn. That said, the moniker fits for their delicate and consciously well-crafted music. Bonsai's brand of gentle, acoustic guitar-driven dream-pop organically grows into something grand. Below is 'I Fashion You're a Dreamer,' the first single from the band's self-titled, Kickstarter-funded debut EP, out May 27. Press the play button below and get lost in this lovely nod to doo-wop carried by Stevens' pensive and haunting lyrics: 'Oh, I never fashioned you a dreamer / I saw you suffering a malady called reality / I never fashioned you a dreamer / 'til your dream shook me.'
