Nona Hendryx (Composer, Lyricist, Arranger & Music Producer for BLUE) began her career with the groundbreaking group Labelle, culminating with their No.1 record 'Lady Marmalade.' Solo recordings include the Grammy-nominated 'Rock This House' and the hits 'Bustin' Out,' 'Keep It Confidential,' 'Transformation' and 'Why Should I Cry?'. In this Original Cast Recording, Hendryx has created a ficticious greatest hits collection for the character Blue WIlliams, comprising the songs Broadway veteran Michael McElroy ('Rent', 'Miss Saigon') performs in BLUE. BLUE is written by Charles Randolph-Wright and directed by Sheldon Epps ('Play On!'). It is presented by the Roundabout Theatre Company and played at the Coconut Grove Playhouse, Miami, Florida in December 2002 and the Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, New Jersey back in January and February 2003.
