Denny was born in Louisville KY on Derby day. While living in Texas, he became interested in song writing and writers such as Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zant and fellow Kentuckian John Prine among many others. Denny penned what he refers to as his 'first decent song' in the mid 80's and has continued to write since. Several friends, entertainers and musicians themselves, heard some of his music and encouraged him to get it in front of others. Denny started performing his material in the late '90's and has introduced his tunes, to very favorable response, all across the country. His first CD, 'Blame it on the Whiskey', includes 12 of his songs. These songs could be included in several genres including Country, both traditional and new, and Americana.
