The Bandleader was the center of attention in every Dance club; ladies swooned and men envied them. They were the hippest cats in the dance world! Now fast-forward 60 years to the clubs of today. The music may have changed and the DJ with a turntable has replaced the bandleader, but the atmosphere and the concept are still the same. All over the world people are packed together on dance floors while one person controls their every dance step. For a while other styles of music took the place of great bands but in recent years a new generation of clubbers have re-discovered Swing and Jazz.
