Stephen Bennett & Bill Gurley - Bennett & Gurley

This 1997 CD was a true collaboration between two friends. Stephen Bennett is well known in the acoustic guitar world for both his stellar playing on a variety of guitars and for his compositions as well. Bill Gurley is a remarkable player on a wide range of string instruments, equally adept on the fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin. To top that off, Bill is also an excellent songwriter! In the late 1980s and then again in the mid 1990s, they worked a lot together. Two recordings came out of that time. Bennett & Gurley is a terrific CD that showcases these two musicians at the peak of their collaborative efforts. The music here ranges from to high energy to sublimely gorgeous.
