In 1912, the huge luxury liner the Titanic fatally hit an iceberg and sank, taking with her over 1,500 passengers; it did so to the accompaniment of music provided by the Titanic orchestra, tragically destined to go down with the ship. Leading salon orchestra I Salonisti appear as that band in the film epic, Titanic. The original Titanic orchestra took their music from the White Star Line Songbook, and this set represents the most popular numbers, including songs by Sousa, Tchaikovsky, Elgar, Sullivan and others.
