Singer/songwriter Maureen Carr has never been accused of acting her age. As her songs indicate, her 'inner child' is alive and well, and 'Alukaleigh Lutz' has been named a 2003 Parents' Choice Recommended Award Winner. A native of New Jersey, Maureen is one of seven children. It's no surprise that she took to singing and playing guitar at an early age... if not for the distinction, then for the distraction. The rich mix of 60's folk and rock was more than inspiring, but when it came to children's music, Maureen was most influenced by Danny Kaye's hilarious 'Mommy, Gimme a Drink of Water' album. She recognizes the importance of children learning through music, but most enjoys making them laugh and use their imaginations. Being the mother of two and an early childhood music teacher has given Maureen a wealth of inspiration...so has being able to truly remember what it was like to be a kid. Kid-tested and approved (in the classroom and on the homefront), 'Alukaleigh Lutz & Other Songs for Kids' is Maureen's debut album for children. In addition to writing for children, Maureen writes contemporary country, soft rock, and modern folk. Her new album 'Stones Unturned' is now available as well.
