I've always written parody songs. But for years I've also been a church musician and worship leader, having authored some well-received praise choruses. I would only share my parodies in private. Last year I attended a Catholic musicians conference. While waiting for a sound check, I sang my religious parodies to those nearby. The response was overwhelming. Word of mouth spread, and I found myself playing these songs to larger crowds off-hours. I was told, by unanimous consent, to make a comedy CD -- an inescapable conclusion, completely unplanned. Here is my first CD to emphasize my peculiar brand of humor. I want to celebrate the joy of Catholic faith -- a perfect Church with imperfect people -- using our omnipresent pop culture. If today's rock stars dared to push the envelope with explicit faith-filled pronouncements... this would be the result.
