He was an influential pioneer of Hard-Bop, not only by performing on numerous records but most notably by co-founding The Jazz Messengers in 1954. Also noted musicians are Lee Morgan on Trumpet and Wayne Shorter on Tenor Saxophone, perform by courtesy of Vee-Jay Records, Bobby Timmons performs by courtesy of Riverside Records.
