Building upon the success of his 2005 Juno Nominated disc "Yemaya" and the critically acclaimed releases "The Cusp" and "Trinacria", Roberto Occhipinti's new release a BEND IN THE RIVER features the talents of pianist David Virelles, Alto Saxophonist Luis Deniz and critically acclaimed drummer/composer Dafnis Prieto in a quartet setting augmented by Strings and Winds. This Contemporary Jazz record features special guest Afrobeat Legend (Fela Kuti, Samon Albarn) Tony Allen on the title track. Juno nominated for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year.
