THE VINYL STASH: In the summer of 2006 a beat up '94 mini van named 'Cherry' carried a bunch of funky rag-a-muffin musicians that called themselves The Vinyl Stash. She carried them from Montauk to Manhattan; from Connecticut to Rhode Island. The van took boat rides to Block Island; joy rides to Queens and even drove clear up the length of New York State to Plattsburg. Every time 'Cherry' stopped The Vinyl Stash got out... Rocked The Party...got back in...and they were off to Rock another. However, like Mick Jagger says 'The road ain't always smooth.' And vocalist Jimmy Dowd and guitarist Ziv Shalev went from riding high supporting The Vinyl Stash's debut album Variety Bash to sinking into a few potholes..i.e.----no drummer; no bass player-----CRASH. The two road brothers continued to do a handful of cover gigs with a variety of very talented drummers and bassists. On many occasions Rodney Ledbetter, a drummer Jimmy had toured with in such groups as 'The Soul Poets' & 'SuperHyperMost', was playing these gigs. Rodney and Jimmy had collaborated for many years prior and he was a sure fit for the original group. The Vinyl Stash was now three in search of a bass. In the beginning of 2010 and three bass players removed, Spencer Coleman, one of the founders and the original bass player, rejoined the group. The Vinyl Stash began to play regularly hitting NYC with a funky vengeance. The band is currently in their brand new experimental and unlimited studio...'Cherry Van Studios' recording their follow-up album Soul Poet. At Cherry Van Studios the four are completely uninhibited and free to do anything they want. With catchy tunes and innovatve recording ideas...the sky's the limit for The Vinyl Stash. Taking over the world one hit and one keg at a time!!!!!
