Shelia Tucker - God's Word

Christian Artist Shelia Tucker sings from the heart, using life's experiences to give testimony and encouragement. "Every experience in life is an opportunity to grow closer to Christ" is her motto. Including her traditional background, Shelia expands her songs to listeners of numerous genres. Her diverse styles range from traditional and contemporary gospel, Christian pop and inspirational music.   A native of Norfolk, VA, Shelia has been singing since the age of three. She received training from Norfolk State Junior Music Program and the Governor's of the Arts. Pursuing her dream, Shelia obtained a Bachelor's of Music Education with an emphasis on Media at Norfolk State University and taught for three years as a vocal instructor for the Jubal Arts Center in Suffolk, VA. She is also the former winner of "Gospel Apollo" and "Catch a Rising Star" contests provided by Star 94.1 FM in Norfolk, VA. Shelia has also been featured on Bobby Jones Gospel.   Shelia's first album, God's Word has reached listeners as far as Japan. You Can Depend On Jesus reminds us that it is better to trust in the Lord then put confidence in man (Psalms 118:8), You Keep Me Going (Lord) testifies to the fact that the joy of the Lord is your strength (Neh. 8:10), Narrow Road proclaims that broad is the way that leads to destruction but narrow is the way that leads to life and there are few who find it (Luke 13:24). Shelia is presently working on her second CD entitled "You Proclaim" and plans to release the first single from this project "God Cares" in 2008.
