Solo Piano. A 9 foot Steinway...a beautiful studio...years of piano playing...some classical music, some jazz, a lullaby... For years and years I have performed as a solo pianist. I'm classically trained yet alot of the music I play is jazz-I've studied and played jazz for years. It's never made sense to me to limit my solo piano playing to one style. I just like to play music that sounds great on the piano: Gershwin, Chopin, Debussy, Hoagy Carmichael. There is a variety of classical and jazz music but it all flows together in a relaxing fashion. I'm grateful to my classical training for teaching me how to make the piano sing and to my jazz playing for a sense of swing. This is a CD to put on to unwind. The classical pieces are lyrical and the jazz swings but it's not edgey. Put it on and cook a great dinner (or get out the takeout). It's ambiance as you eat or work. Let your mind hum.
