Even though this 1980 session is not Tyner's first as a leader, it was the first that distilled the music he'd made with Coltrane, establishing him as one of the most influential band leaders and recording artists of the '70s. The all star cast includes saxophonists Wayne Shorter and Gary Bartz, bassist Ron Carter, drummer Elvin Jones and guest artist Alice Coltrane on harp.
