IN MY HEART CD - The Story Ha'ale'ale i ka pu'uwai Heart full to the brim with love. Inspired by Allison (age 7) and her beautiful poem/song: In My Heart In my heart, my life is strong. Anything can happen. If you believe in love you can do anything. Love is in my heart, in my heart. I'm thinking about it right this minute. All the things I could do but instead I'm singing this song. Believe in me. Think of your heart. Love, Love, Love, that's all I'm saying. Come on believe in yourself. Come on and shine. Be yourself and Live. The recording for this CD was coming along nicely but we didn't have a name or realize yet the central theme of the CD. One day we were talking to Allison's grandmother and she mentioned the poem/song that Allie had written. All the kids were playing together and Allie was just sitting at the table with her crayons working diligently. Her mom asked her what she was working on. She said 'I'm writing a song.' A little later, her mom noticed Allie had gone to play with the other kids and she found the poem/song sitting on the table. She was so touched by it's message, she took a picture and shared with Allie's grandmother. When we heard the words, we knew this was very special. Then we saw the picture and handwritten words... sitting upon a tablecloth looking just like a traditional palaka shirt. We started to get really excited. Then we looked at our song list in the light of Allie's words. Perfect! Love in our hearts... songs honoring those who shared their hearts, gifts, and love with us... love for the places and experiences... The music... all in our hearts... like Allie said... Love, Love, Love. And then to top it off, I ran across the Hawaiian phrase... Ha'ale'ale i ka pu'uwai - Heart full to the brim with love - and it became our theme for the year.
