Each song on Move On delivers ghostly familiar, but always new and engaging grooves and arrangements. In some ways, this recording is a welcomed return to the cross-over songwriting styles of decades past. In other ways, it is refreshingly original. Ron works his steel and nylon string acoustic guitar like a piano arranger/composer, solidly laying down harmonically captivating samba, blues and jazz grooves against a bass/drum rhythm track. Supporting instruments are used like voices and backup vocals like instrumentation to sparsely adorn otherwise stand alone guitar songs. Ron Harrison currently performs in the Northern Michigan area as a solo act and occasionally with his studio band. Check out Ron's new release, River Road. On this CD, he experiments with horns, keyboard and bluegrass banjo.
