iPhone 16 Pro colors: what palette can you expect from this year’s launch?
Phones accompany us wherever we go, so it’s natural that we want our phone to look great and maybe even express a little of our personality.
Recognizing the importance of style, Apple typically offer in a range of colours from the standard palette of blacks, grays and silvers through to more out-there options like yellow, green and pink.
Apple remain tight-lipped about the range of colors this year’s 16 Pro models will be available in, and we won’t get any further info until the launch date (expected to take place on September 10). Luckily, we have a few rumors to give us an idea of what to expect.

What colors will the iPhone 16 Pro be available in?
According to a post on X by well-regarded Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max range will launch in four colors: Black Titanium, White Titanium, Natural Titanium (a light gray) and a new Rose shade, replacing Blue Titanium from the 15 series.
Some less reliable rumors claim improvements to Apple’s titanium and color processes lead to more glossy finish this year, but the evidence is relatively thin.
In short, we expect the iPhone 16 Pro’s color options to be pretty limited.
What colors will the iPhone 16 range be available in?
Here’s where things get more interesting. The base iPhone 16 range is expected to have a broader spectrum of colors to consider than the Pro range – perhaps even the widest range of any iPhone yet.
Sonny Dickson posted an image on X (below) apparently showing the iPhone 16 in 5 colors: white, black, blue, green and pink. The iPhone 15 was available in almost all of these colors, although this year’s selection looks much more vivid and bright than last year’s pastel-vibed shades.
A separate rumor suggests Apple has two more colors up its sleeve: purple and yellow. However, these rumors (reported by MacRumors) come from a relatively unproven source. The absence of purple and yellow from Dickson’s leaked image and Kuo’s X post suggest Apple chose not to go ahead with them or will make them available next year (as they did with certain colors during the iPhone 13 and 14 cycles).
Ming-Chi Kuo’s post on X, cited earlier, seemingly backs up these rumors, claiming the 16 range will launch in the five colors depicted in Dickson’s image. Kuo also claimed that Apple may rename some of the colors, using the example of Apple using ‘Starlight’ for a shade of white in the past.
What should I do if my favorite color isn’t available?
For a lot of people, the color of their iPhone doesn’t really matter because it goes into a protective case as soon as it leaves the box. So if your favorite color isn’t listed above, don’t worry – we can 100% guarantee you’ll find a case you love instead. Focus instead on other features and whether or not they suit you and your budget.
Another option is to buy an older iPhone, as Apple has released iPhone models in pretty much every single shade over the years. This means sacrificing performance and the latest features but you could save a few $$$ as well. We wouldn’t base our purchase solely on color though (see: point about cases above).
What will the iPhone 16 look like?
From all accounts, the iPhone 16 will look like the iPhone 15. Most of the big improvements likely relate to performance and the camera system, with a lot of speculation focusing on new AI features. Check out this post for the latest on performance and feature improvements.
