How to get the most out of your iPhone

More Americans own an iPhone than ever before, but are they getting the full benefit of their little devices? Probably not!
We’ve got some tips and tricks to help you get more out of your iPhone.

Charge your cell phone faster

If you’re in a hurry and need to charge your cell phone as quickly as you can, switch to the flight safe mode. Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen and tap the airplane icon, then plug in your charger. It won’t charge in the blink of an eye, but it will help to speed the process up.

Save the battery

One way to make your battery last longer is to switch to low power mode. You can switch this on through the Control Center in Settings, or you will be asked if you want to switch to low power mode when your battery drops to 20%. In order to save the battery, some apps will be affected. When you charge your iPhone in low power mode, it will automatically turn off once your battery reaches 80% and above.

Night shift

The night shift feature is easy on the eye – literally! It uses warmer tones so the iPhone screen isn’t so harsh. Night shift also works out when it’s sunset where you are to it automatically shifts the colors in your display and resets the following morning. To switch to night shift, swipe up to the control center then press the brightness control icon. Underneath is a sun and moon icon – tap on that to activate.

Lower torch brightness

You’ll need to be on iOS 10or above, using a 6S and above for this neat little feature. If you’ve ever turned on your torch accidently you’ll know just how bright that thing is but now you can go for a lower option. Swipe up to the Control Center and press on the flashlight button. Three options will appear – low light, medium light and bright light.

Use Siri better

Make sure Siri isn’t just something you click on accidently! You can get Siri to read your email and you’ll be told who sent the email, what time and what date. Siri can even listen to your response and send that for you. Siri can read your iMessages for you, too.

…and you can change Siri’s voice

You don’t have to stick with Siri’s voice if you don’t want to. You’ll get more options with iOS 12 which will include Irish and South African, but for now you can choose a British, Australian or an American accent. You also have the choice of a male or female voice.

Block callers

This feature is good if you want to cut off people you actually know or stop cold calls from happening. When you go into the contact or open the phone number, you should be able to scroll down to see the Block caller option. You’ll no longer receive phone calls from this person.
